Futureself
Futureself is a group art project that is part of a large scale art project called MESSAGES. MESSAGES will be a huge exhibition at the Gallery in July 2008, with work from 100’s of young people who have worked in partnership with professional artists exploring the theme of messages through different artforms. Futureself is an opportunity for everyone to get involved in this exhibition; all the postcards received will be exhibited at The Study Gallery of Modern Art either on the walls or as part of a digital display.
Furureself postcards have been distributed all around Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset – in galleries, dentist’s waiting rooms, schools, cafes, shops etc. But if you want to take part and can’t find postcards, just follow the instructions below and join in:
Instructions:
You must write a message to your future self – 10 years on.
What to do:
Take a normal A6 postcard (blank or otherwise)
Download a pdf of the postcard we sent out
Write your message on one side to your future self
Add a stamp and send the postcard to the address below by June 2008
Tips:
Be creative – express yourself, let the postcard be your canvas!
Be legible – we need to be able to read your message
Don’t make the message too long
Your message can be anonymous
